What's New

Next Week

We will finish with the sound of P.  When we get our next sound we will be able to read our first word!

How many things can you think of that start with p?  The Kindergartners found many and were excited to bring them in their bags.  Along with learning the sound of p we also have enjoyed reading books that emphasize the sound.  One of our favorites turned out to be Pig in the Pond.  Not only was the book funny but we also enjoyed putting our own pigs in the pond.  Of course, they all had to start with p to jump in.

Dear Juno is a story we read about a little boy who couldn't read the letter his grandmother had written him because it was in Korean.  However, he figured out what it said by looking at the items she had enclosed in it.  We discovered that we too could write a letter.  We then wrote letters for our grandparents.

Leaving mom to come to school can be a sad experience.  We enjoyed reading The Kissing Hand about the solution a raccoon mom had for her young raccoon going to school.  We also noticed that raccoons go to school at night instead of the day.  We made our own kissing hand and also learned sign language to tell someone "I Love You."

Don't forget Open House on Tuesday from 4-7!!!  Followed up with volleyball and coronation.
